PONTiS Anchor Shaft

The anchor is inserted using a shaft. The anchor is positioned on the end of the shaft and is screwed into position.  The 3-0 multi-filament stainless steel suture is housed within slits along the shaft and handle.

The vinyl cap and foam are then removed, freeing the needles which are in the handle, and the shaft is then removed. The anchor, with the 3-0 multi-filament stainless steel suture remains.

PONTiS Anchor

The PONTiS suture anchor is specifically designed for use in the hand and fingers. Anchor is 4.5mm long and has a blunt tip so that it does not penetrate the far cortex. For this reason the cortex needs to be tapped. To ensure adequate pull-out strength it has a diameter of 3mm.

The anchor has 3-0 multi-filament stainless steel suture attached and is used with a cross-lock on the proximal tendon and a crimp to connect the tendon to the bone.

PONTiS Tear Away Sheath

A tear-away sheath holds the sutures within these slits and is peeled away once the anchor is seated in the bone.
